David Maraniss is an associate editor at the Washington Post and a best-selling author of biographies of Barack Obama, Vince Lombardi, and Bill Clinton. If that wasn’t enough to make his parents proud, he’s also been a finalist for three Pulitzer Prizes and has won two: the 1993 National Reporting Prize for his coverage of then-presidential candidate Bill Clinton and, with the staff of the Washington Post, the 2008 Breaking News Reporting Prize for coverage of the Virginia Tech shooting.
